At the Red Sea

Ya know...I kinda get the idea of how some of the Israelites must've felt at the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army coming down on them. OVERWHELMED.

We cleaned a bit over the weekend...and did shopping...and of course I didn't get any sleep last night because my hip was hurting so damn bad I couldn't get comfortable. Then the drive in today, and dammit I just can't take it anymore.

I mean, really! If we have to move we have to, at minimum, replace the fence around our property. That's going to cost a LOT, and I have no idea where it's coming from. And now of course taxes are coming due and we might or might NOT owe the feds anything, depending on what I can find out about our Property Tax - but we certainly will owe the STATE, because I just found out that my Short-Term Disability didn't take out any state taxes whatsofreakingever, so we'll owe the state at least $200.

PLUS we'll have to paint, and I hope to God that we can get the carpets halfway decent because otherwise we'll have to replace them, and a zillion other things. Yes, it's wonderful to be able to take "one day at a time" but dammit, there are things that need to be paid for that we will have to save up to do, so NOT thinking about all this, and NOT planning for it, is just asking for trouble.
I know, I know, "not a single sparrow falls" and all that - but last time I checked, the sparrows didn't have to make thousands of seeds worth of improvements to a nest in order to be able to move to a new one. Nor do they have to pay some sort of Sparrow Consortium a portion of their seeds every year or they get thrown into Sparrow Prison.

So...yeah, feeling quite a bit overwhelmed right now. Mainly because, added to the "stuff I already had to deal with" (like "how the hell are we going to even FIX the damn fence, let alone REPLACE IT") I now have to deal with taxes and how we're going to pay for THOSE. I just feel like I've got the Red Sea at my back, and I'm looking at Pharaoh's army and he just...keeps...ADDING...more...chariots.

I'm not averse to getting my feet all muddy crossing a miraculously-separated sea or anything, but...some of them chariots are getting kinda close. And I dunno how well I can swim in all this.
